It's Official! We're going domestic!!

Okay guys! Here's the scoop! Our paperwork is done, all we have to do is take an infant care class (next Wednesday) and our profile will go to birth moms! Because we are open to race the wait should be short. The last two families were matched in one month and three months! She also told me they have seven files of families (including ours!) open to race, and seven mothers in different stages of pregnancy that meet our criteria. We are beyond excited...but a little scared. We have NOTHING for a newborn. Toddler yes....newborn no. Money is TIGHT after this adoption and the failed Taiwan attempt so I am trying to buy things slowly. We have asked for a boy, so I am trying to put myself into boy shopping mode. I am still stuck in the pink and bows stage, so I am trying to switch gears! We plan to get the crib up this weekend, and I need to go buy an infant carrier/car seat as well. Please keep us (and Lucy as this will rock her world!!) in your prayers!

That is sooooo exciting!! We looked into this once as a friend of mine had just adopted an African American little boy. They had 7 birthmothers looking to place their African American boys without any families to take them. Unfortunately, we had a close family member that had a problem with that, so we decided it wouldn't be fair to our child. So I am SURE you will be picked very soon!!!

Oh hun, that's great news! We are SO excited for you guys. YAY! When do you think you will hear something? I guess it could be any time right? You may also want to check out Craig's List. Sometimes they have awesome things for a very low price. I LOVE a discount. My heart is swelling for you. I know it may be a little difficult in the beginning to get used to another baby in the house, but Lucy will dio great becuase she is such a joyful little girl. This is the best news I have heard in a while. Good luck my friend and hope it happens fast for you.

Hi Jill,
What an exciting, amazing, thrilling time!! Great news and wishing you all the best!! Hoping that your process is short! I'm sure that Lucy will adjust just fine. Just think, she'll have an important job being big sister, and more importantly, Mama's helper!!

Jill, I found you followin' my I'm going to follow yours :) I read a little bit about your story and I am so sorry about Taiwain. One thing I do know is that God does work ALL things for good for those who love Him. And I'm confident something amazing will come of that yucky trial!

We have adopted 3x domestically and 1x internationally (China)...if I can help you in anyway, please email me. We've been blessed with beautiful open adoptions (all 3 different levels of openess per bmom's choice) and it has been the most amazing, amazing blessing!!!

Best wishes on this amazing journey! Hugs, stacy

Congratulations on your domestic adoption! I often wonder if we should switch to domestic because of the long wait times with China. I will love to follow your journey and hear more about your experience.
