About Vivi Grace

About sweet Vivi....... I am waiting for the other shoe to drop, but God has gifted us with the BEST baby! She is SO ALERT, and seems to go with the flow. We have only had her 9 hours, and she has been awake over 3 of them. She eats like a champ, and loves to be cuddled. The nurses were sad to see her go, because they said she was such a joy to be around these past three days.
As for the birth mom. She had been adament from the point of giving birth that she didn't want to know anything about us, or us about her. That has been hard for me to stomach these past 2 days because I really want my daughter to have some sense of who her bio parents were. I have prayed and asked others to pray, and this morning called Dina (social worker) to tearfully tell her at parental termination to please convey to birthmom that if she changes her mind, we would embace her. Dina came back and told us did not only did birthmom allow a picture of herself to be taken for us, but took our picture as well. She also said that someday when she gets settled, she may contact our agency and ask for all our photo and letter updates. I will take that! Please continue to pray for peace for her. My joy is her pain, and that thought is never far from my mind.
Time for me to try to sneek in some sleep! Enjoy some more Vivi cuteness!

Stop it! She is adorable, and they look so gorgeous in that last photo together!

I am so happy for you, and for the slight change regarding the birth mother. I can totally relate to your thoughts and feelings about this part of her story. It's the one thing I've felt really sad about since we brought Charlie home. Mostly I just pray for peace for his birth mom, but sometimes I just wish she could know how very much we love him.

So glad to hear little V. is adjusting well...some part of me really thinks maybe our babies can sense how much they were wanted, and are loved...and that's why they are so calm. I hope the trend continues for you!!

Hugs,

Melba

She is beautiful! I am so happy for you all! I am grateful you were able to get a picture of the birth mom. I pray as time passes you'll have more information.

Our adoption is closed and I know more information than I'm supposed to know, but it would be so nice to know more.

Bless you and your family!

Jill,

It sounds like things are going wonderfully! I was so happy to read that Vivi's BM might be open to future communication. The last picture of Lucy and Vivi is so sweet, it gives me goosebumps. That picture really explains it all...Pure joy.

She is so beautiful.

That last picture actually brought tears to my eyes. SO sweet.

I will pray that the birth mother changes her mind. I hope so much for Vivi to be have as much information that she can about her first Mom. My twin sister and I were adopted at birth and we have very little information about our birth mother. Many times I have wanted to try and find her but because she refused to give my parents any information and refused any contact, I am afraid it would be too painful for her, or worse, that I might be rejected. Surely after 38 years she would be o.k. with meeting us but that fear of rejection keeps me from trying.

Aww she's precious and seeing the girls together is so sweet.
That's how my Isabels hair was when she was born, soft and straight. Best tip for her hair now is to mess with it everyday so she gets used to it, I didn't do thst and now it's a challenge.
So glad that you have a picture of her birthmom. I'll be praying she contacts the agency when she's ready.

Hi Jill,

I have been away from bloggyland for the past week and a half and wanted to stop by and say CONGRATULATIONS!!! Oh my word....what a beautiful girl....she is such a blessing!! Reading through your past few entries brought back many of the thoughts and feelings that we went through when we got the call about Sarah and our first few months with her. Not sure if you know or not, but our adoption was and is closed and we have very limited info on the birth family......it is hard to fathom at times and I worry about answering her questions as she gets older.....I guess in time, we will find the right things to say.

Enjoy every moment with your beautiful girl....

Wishing you all the best!!!

Lisa
