Vivienne Grace is 1 Month Old!!!!

Our baby girl is one month old today! She still rocks the bottles, and enjoys sleeping, but unfortunately (and expectedly) we have hit some colic. It flares up late evening, and continues until about 1-2 AM. Not every night thank goodness, but 3-4 nights a week is enough for me!
Lucy continues to do well. She loves holding Vivi, getting her diapers ready, and replacing her binky when needed. It doesn't hurt that I have also pulled out all the baby toys again that have been packed away. I think Lucy is playing with them more now than she did back then!
My mom came in last week when Mark went back to work full time, and gave me some much needed help. The house was still in a bit of chaos, and it was nice to finish organizing things and catch up on some sleep. It was also nice to spend some time with my mom, and to allow her some time to bond with my newest daughter. We also did some shopping, and all of us girls got some new clothes.
The social worker comes tomorrow for our one month post placement. I need to have a birthmom letter and pictures ready. I bought the birthmom a card a few weeks ago, but have yet to write it. So many things have been running through my head. There are SO MANY things I want to say to her..to convey to her...but I just don't know how to put it in words so that she can "feel" the emotion I am trying to share. I wish I could just meet her for 2 minutes.......
I pray in time this may happen.
I am just taking my time and enjoying my family. God is good!

What a little sweet heart. I can't believe it's been a month already. I hope the colic doesn't last much longer. Sleep deprivation is the worst. Enjoy both your girls. What a special gift. Hugs!!

What a cutie! I can only imagine what I would say if I could write a letter to Amelia's first mom...I'm afraid it would be closer to a book. I pray you can start to find the words...

Happy one month birthday Vivienne! My Alexis had colic REALLY bad from midnight till 3 a.m. It was so hard to function on no sleep. Finally the thing that worked was wrapping her super tight in her blankets like a burrito wrap. She may just need to feel that security of the womb in order to realy relax and get quality sleep. Hope that helps.

I can't wait to hold her and kiss her!

She is so beautiful and getting bigger every minute! Sorry to hear about the colic, but hopefully it will pass soon. My niece is the same with Charlie's toys that she used to play with when she was a baby. Suddenly they are all new and very exciting!

So glad to hear things are going well for your fabulous little family...

Good luck with the post placement and letter writing, definitely major ordeals!

Hugs,

Melba

Vivi is the cutest little angel!!! I hope her colic goes away quickly and she (and you) can get some good sleep.
Hearing what you say about wanting to convey your feelings to the birthmom is so understandable. Speak from the heart...you can never lose that way!

First of all, I LOVE the name...I also have a Vivi...Vivi Jo...Viv...Vivian, whatever suits her at the moment :-). Our Vivi was going to be a Lucy for a long time before we decided to change to Vivi.

I totally understand the difficulty in writing the letter...your heart is so full of love that there are no words to express how you feel.

I hope the colic gets better fast!

Have a great day!

Thanks for your kind words on my blog. I am taking deep breaths this morning and trying to clear my head! Vivienne Grace is beautiful and I love her names. My 13 year old niece also had colic and my sister swears by a CD she bought – it was about 20 minutes of vacuum cleaner noises and she says it worked. Hope the colic goes away soon.

I hope the colic passes soon. My son gave me some sleepness nights with colic.

Enjoy your beautiful children!

Hi!
I know you are getting lots of advice about the colic. I do know the vacuum noise helped two of our friends with their babies. I read in one of your comments that there is now a CD of vacuum noises. I bet anything is worth a try!
Your girls are beautiful!!
Wishing you a peaceful sleep!

She is just stunning! How hard it must be to fit what you want to say in a letter...sometimes words are just not enough are they.
