Big Girl Bed

We tried the "big girl bed" Thursday night. It lasted 20 minutes or so. Back to the crib. At 2:15AM she woke screaming "I want my crib!" Keep in mind she WAS in her crib! Tips anyone?????

she may have just been dreaming of being back in the big girl bed. My son was in his crib until just after his third birthday. Prior to that we tried his big boy bed, but we would either hear him yelling for us or wake up to find him anywhere in his room except his bed. So he went back to the crib. We also ended up getting him a toddler bed, bc he was so un-impressed with the bigger bed. We never had a problem once putting him in the toddler bed.
GOOD LUCK. She will let you know when she is ready. It may just take a few night of swithching back and forth. Start out with just the nap(s) in the big girl bed.

No tips..My kids were ok during the transition to big kid beds. Hmmm..do you read before bed? Maybe that would soothe her...not sure..just thinking out loud. Keep us posted! Good Luck!

We returned the Tongginator to her crib after a false start. She stayed there until her third birthday. She slept in an actual toddler bed under she was four. So I have no advice for you; instead, I'll be reading these comments with interest for our next go-around.

Love the big girl bed! It must be a scary experience going from the confine of a crib to this big open area. The mattress must feel different too. Sorry no tips...we've yet to experience this situation, although I must say that Jillian is use to seeing a big girl bed in her room. We cuddle and play on it. She may transition well when the time comes because of this. When we converted the room to a baby room, we left a twin bed in there in case we needed to stay n the room with her in the first days home from China. Sorry that Lucy had a bad dream. She looks all cozy and cute in her new bed. Sending Lucy hugs and sweet dreams!! Jan, John & Jillian Rose

Oh my gosh Jill, this is too funny. Although I know it really isn't when you wake up to this at 2:15 in the morning. I would love to give you some good pointers but heck i am learning from you (lol). So hope you can fugure this out by the time we transition Sofia from crib to big girl bed, ha-ha.

Hugs,
Jonni

Wait till she's ready and wants to sleep in it. My son is 2 and has been in his for a few months now, but he wanted to do it. I just had both beds in his room and one day he decided he was ready to start sleeping in it. He never looked back.
